This recipe came from the Happy Hooker book and called for a size I/9 hook. I can't remember the exact yarn I used, but it was fairly thin. Once I got the hang of the project, it went very quickly. I'd definitely do it again. I did another one in a slightly thicker yarn (probably Paton's) combined with a very soft eyelash yarn. It's very cozy to wear, but sheds like crazy. Fortunately, Max likes it:
